War Memorial Community Center & Library

The War Memorial Community Center and John Daly Library is a new 34,000 square foot facility designed for two multi-sport gymnasiums, indoor running track, library with state-of-the-art computer rooms, and community spaces for public gatherings, rentals, childcare and community classes. As a new three story building replacing the existing sub-standard community center structure, the design sitting atop a hill is punctuated by the conical skylit atrium lobby and becomes visibly prominent from two major streets. The Library is on two levels separated for adult and children's reading and stacks. Barcelon & Jang worked with the heads of the City Departments and performed at community outreach presentations.
